Letter to Parents and Gaurdians

Dear Parents/guardians,

I am very happy to report that we have been informed of the phased reopening of schools beginning on Monday 1st March for our Early Start, Junior Infants, Senior Infants, First and Second classes. School will be open as normal but the HSE has asked that parents sign a form upon returning their child/children to the school. This form will be available for each family on Monday morning. This will require some patience and tolerance as you arrive at the school on Monday.

After this, it is planned that Third to Sixth classes will return to school on Monday, 15th March. At this point we will be fully open but in the meantime, online learning provision will continue for these classes.

It is very important that we try to strictly adhere to our infection control measures for everyone's safety and these will be communicated in detail to the school community once again but three key aspects for now:

1. If you are unwell, have been in contact with someone who is unwell, stay at home and contact the HSE for advice

2. Follow HSE advice with respect to hygiene, coughing/sneezing etiquette, social distancing, mask wearing.

3. Please do not congregate at drop off and pick up times If in any doubt with respect to symptoms, stay out of school and seek advice.

Contact the school with queries.

We are very happy at the prospect of returning and will strictly adhere to our infection control measures to keep the school environment and everyone in it safe.

Looking forward to seeing children return, with kind regards and God's blessings,

P. Jennings

We need to gather information on what parents think and feel about online learning. As teachers, it is very difficult to judge how the kids and parents feel when we cannot have face to face conversations. The staff can't wait to be back to school. There is no doubt it is better for all of us to be in the building and working together, but until we can do so safely, we have to make the best of it. Please take a few minutes to fill in the survey. Your responses will help us to plan for the next couple of weeks. Follow the link to complete the survey
