Some pupils from 5th and 6th class have been doing an equine studies programme over the past number of weeks. This involved learning all about horses and how to treat and take care of them. This culminated in a visit to the Race Acadamey and National Stud in Kildare. At the Race Academy they got to see how young jockeys prepare for a career in horse racing. Afterwards we visited the National Stud where the children got to see and learn all about the horses that are currently there.

On the 25th of May our school had a procession for Our Lady as it is the month of May. We walked across with our statue of Mary to the grotto in the community. Our Priest said a few words and some prayers. The children then sang a beautiful rendition of Hail Queen of Heaven.

We had a visit from Limerick Fire Brigade last week. The children learned all about the Fire Engine and how it works. They learned about the different hoses and how they get water to put out the fires. They also got a chance to walk through the Fire Engine and the spray water with the hoses. It was very educational and fun at the same time.
