On Friday the 18th of May the Green School Committee organised a walk to school day to promote a reduction of cars on our roads and to have a positive impact on pollution. It was also great to see the children getting extra exercise and enjoying walking in the good weather. There was rewards and raffle tickets for people who walked to school. One lucky child was the winner of the raffle and they received a brand new scooter. The Lord Mayor of Limerick visited the event and was very pleased with the efforts of the children. Well done to all involved.

We recently celebrated our cultural diversity in Our Lady of Lourdes with a celebration in the school hall. The children were encouraged to wear their traditional clothes from their native countries. The parents went to great efforts to cook traditional food from their respective countries and their was some delicious food on offer. Everyone got to try the different foods and this was an interesting experience for all involved. The children had decorated the hall and there was music from the different countries. All in all it was a great celebration of the cultural diversity that we have in Our Lady of Lourds and is part of our wider effort to bring different people from different cultures together more often.
