We had a celebration in our school on Wednesday for all the grandparents of the children in the school. They came to the school hall and watched each class do a short performance. There was tea and coffee for all the grandparents and parents and everyone enjoyed the celebration. The children's performances were outstanding. There was poems, songs, tin whistle and drama from children of all ages. Well done to all the performers!!

5th class recently spent a day taking part in a Lego robotics workshop. It was a competition run by Analog to select a team to take part in a special competition being run at their company in March. The children had to first build the robot. They then had to programme it to perform manoeuvres and navigate their way through mazes. It was an excellent day with lots STEM learning and 1 team will go on to represent the school in the limerick finals.

We had an assembly at school today to celebrate all the good attenders for December. Every child that had full attendance for December got a prize and a certificate. Well done to all. There was also a special certificate awarded to the children who had perfect attendance since the start of the year. They did not miss one day this term and this was a great achievement by all these children. Well done.

We were very lucky in our School last Friday when the Liam McCarthy cup visited. The trophy was brought to the school by Kyle Hayes. This was a great opportunity for the children to meet a real local hero. Kyle was man on the match in the All Ireland final and an inspiration for his team. We hope that the children in our school take some inspiration from him. He spoke to the children and signed hundreds of autographs. The children sang some songs for him and gave him an excellent reception. It was a great occasion in the school and enjoyed by all.
