Our school was recently presented with a cheque for fundraising money raised by Tesco Blue Box tokens appeal. The photo is of pupils and Mrs.Gallagher being presented with a cheque by Dean McCormack's mother Lyndsey McCormack. Well done to all those involved.

3rd Class have been learning all about Scratch using Lego. Scratch is used for programming your own interactive stories, games and animations. 3rd Class are using it to interact with Lego and build their own interactive machines. Scratch helps young people think and learn creatively, reason systematically and work collaboratively.

Junior and Senior Infants went to visit the Teddy Bear Hospital in the University of Limerick on Wednesday the 8th of March. They had a fantastic time and learned a lot. They also got some repairs done on their own Teddy Bears.

The Green School committe have been working hard to earn our new Green Flag which is in Biodiversity. All the children have been learning lots about Biodiversity and each class put a display outside their room. The school has also had a big Spring Clean in the school. This Friday we had a celebration in the hall for the Grandparents of our students. Early start and Junior Infants performed poems. Senior Infants performed a song and a dance. First and Second class recited a lovely poem and had some great actions to go with it. Second class performed a poem they had written especially for the day. Then we had a great performance of Irish Dancing with a mix of children from different classes. Third class also performed a poem and Nathan from fifth class read a reflection to complete the performance. The Grandparents then enjoyed Tea and Coffee which was organised by the Parent's Association.
