On Tuesday the 24th of January 5th class visited Limercik Institute of Technology to take part in an event. They had a fun filled educational day. The day kicked off with an interactive talk on Space Technology and the spin offs of Space Technology to everyday life. They also had a presentation by Blackrock Castle Observatory on 'Space in Our Lives'.They also learned about how satellites work and impact on our lives. They got to attend a magic science show after lunch. Then the highlight of the day came. The children were present as a live call was placed to Thomas Pesquet - the French astronaut currently on the International Space Station. Only three countries and locations in Europe were part of the live call so it was a very special opportunity. The children had a fantastic experience and learned a lot about Space. They also were captured on the six o'clock RTE News watching the live call take place.
