We recently got brand new kits for our boys and girls gaelic football teams. We also received a brand new soccer kit. Our new kits were kindly sponsored by the ABC Group and the LTSP Group. Both our girls and boys teams took part in two Gaelic Football blitzes recently. Our girls played brilliantly and won 5 out of their 6 matches. The boys were very successful in their first blitz winning all three games. They were then placed in a harder group for their second blitz and narowly lost out in both games. Both teams really excelled in only our second year taking part in Cumann na mBunscoil games. Well done to all involved. Click read more to see more photos of the new kits.

We had a visit to our school from Limerick All Ireland winner Aaron Gillane. He brought the Liam McCarthy cup with him. We had this special guest to celebrate our Active Flag which the school was awarded in June of last year. The children enjoyed asking Aaron all sorts of questions about playing hurling for Limerick and about his sporting achievements so far in his life.

More than 100 primary school students went to battle with their self-designed sumo wrestling robots in a competition designed to promote science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).
The hugely popular challenge attracted students from 32 primary schools across Limerick city and county and saw teams of 10 to 12-year-olds gather in Analog Devices on Saturday morning to build their own robots before entering the ring and pitting their robotic creations against each other sumo-style that afternoon.
Teachers, parents, family and friends cheered on the children during the tense and dramatic knock-out rounds. Not just judged on their robot’s performance, the teams were also awarded points for teamwork as well as design and innovation.
Our Lady of Lourdes were represented at the competition by Ria O'Donoghue and Rhiann Nolan.
