Our Lady of Lourdes hosted a fun day in conjunction with EDNIP on Friday. It was to celebrate our school and the diversity that we have in our school community. There was fun activites for the children including face painting, penalties, tug of war, races and water games. There was food provided by all the parents. Music generation also turned up to play some music in our school yard. There was a performance then in the school hall with some classes performing songs and this was finished with some Irish dancing. As a final treat all the children got ice-cream from the ice-cream van. A freat day was had by all.

The whole school has been working for the last two years on our Biodiversity Green Flag. Thanks to the hard work of Ms.Butler, Ms. Hayes, the green school committee and our caretaker Johnny, we were awarded the Green Flag in Biodiversity recently. Our caretaker Johnny raised the flag on Friday. Well done to all the pupils on a great school effort and for making our school a better friend to the environment.

On Friday the 18th of May the Green School Committee organised a walk to school day to promote a reduction of cars on our roads and to have a positive impact on pollution. It was also great to see the children getting extra exercise and enjoying walking in the good weather. There was rewards and raffle tickets for people who walked to school. One lucky child was the winner of the raffle and they received a brand new scooter. The Lord Mayor of Limerick visited the event and was very pleased with the efforts of the children. Well done to all involved.
